Prompt: Wonder. How did you cultivate a sense of wonder in your life this year?
Living here with the seasons. Summer was hot and wet, but not as unbearable as I imagined. Then all the sudden it was autumn with the leaves turning and the wind changing. My internal clock was telling me to enjoy it while it lasted, being used to the fickle fall that Utah offers. To my wonder, day after day there was little change. Subtle changes, more colors, but everything lingered. Fall was slowly, slowly taking its sweet time. I didn't realize how much I needed the reprieve. Every day, at least once a day, I realize that this is a big part of why people live here. Why they sweat through the summer.
It is the first week of December and I wore shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops today. 76 degrees. Yes it is unseasonably warm, yes my internal seasonal clock is all jacked, but autumn here is making me fall in love with this city. I am grateful I haven't taken it for granted. That I often find myself sitting on my porch or at the park, taking it all in, this beautiful place I live, this lush and green area that has turned windy and warm with the vibrancy and crunch that a proper fall offer.
These two are falling hard too...
