5 minutes of happy

Dudes. Lots of happy happening lately.

The thing I am the most excited about- kickboxing. There is a new studio that opened in our neighborhood that is all about the boxing/kickboxing/fighting workouts. I've been giving it a try and I am pretty smitten. I miss working out like this. It's something I have loved for almost 10 years, so it makes me wonder why I ever deviate from it? If you love something, you should do it more, right? It just makes sense. I only wish I had friends up here to do it with (you know you wanna come try it Mandy!)

Also- cooking. Now that Linc has joined me in the clean eating arena it has been seriously motivating to get in the kitchen and try new things. He isn't picky, but isn't as into a lot of my go-to stuff, so it has been fun to do research and try new things. I think I was to that point where you just get sick of cooking the same types of things for your family- but you cook them because you know they work. You know the kids will eat them. Turns out, my kids are far more adventurous than I give them credit for. They have been troopers with trying new things and old favorites. It has created a lot of good dialog with Mya about healthy choices and why portion control matters, why eating when you are hungry and listening to your body is a good skill to develop. I just love that this has turned into a family thing.

I'll leave with my latest favorite- Homemade Cliff Bars. I will say that they don't really taste like the Cliff Bars in the store, but they have similar properties. My girls love them and it is cool that there are so many ways to customize them to your liking. Did I mention they are easy? Less than 10 minutes, start to finish.

I wish my efforts were a whole-family thing... Timm is definitely supportive and willing though.

I love the way you embrace everything you do with so much enthusiasm! It's one of my favorite things about you, and a quality I want to emulate.

How awesome that this has turned into a family thing! :)

I'll have to try the cliff bar recipe (i used to eat them all the time.) I have a vegan raw "coconut brownie" recipe that I love, let me know if you want it.
